TheAssociation of Certified E-Discovery Specialiststodayreleased the first independent certification examination ever offered in the e-discovery field.
More than 50 e-discovery, psychometric, and certification experts devoted over 1,000 hours to create the landmark psychometrically-sound examination. The eight-month process included a 272-item international survey, which received more than 400 responses.
The CEDS examination tests a candidate's knowledge in areas from cost controls, litigation and preservation holds, budgeting and ethics to project management, technology, data culling, document reviews and cross-border discovery. The CEDS examination is not a test of knowledge of any product, training course or software.
The legally defensible examination is offered at 519 highly-secure and proctored ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers worldwide, including 314 in the US and 28 in Canada.
On November 4, ACEDS will release an extensive CEDS Examination Preparation Manual, which will be provided to certification candidates.
Candidates can download the CEDS Examination Candidate Handbook with eligibility and application information, and to get other guidance about the certification process, at ACEDS.org/certification.
